Product Description

All CURT hitches feature WeatherTite construction, which prevents rusting from the inside out by sealing the main body of the hitch. The receiver tube has an open back end to allow for easy cleaning and for dirt and moisture to pass through and not get trapped as is common with other brands of hitches. All CURT hitches come with mounting hardware and installation instructions. CURT is the only hitch company in the industry that mechanically de-scales all of our hitches before applying a thick powder coat finish, which is baked on for a high-gloss, smooth surface. CURT trailer hitches are simply the most attractive, most durable and toughest hitch on the market. You won’t find better quality and value anywhere!

5Great hitch
By Biker1111
My hitch was delivered well packaged in a cardboard box from Curt. Installation wasn't bad but it certainly was no where near the 20 minutes claimed in the instructions. Removing the existing bumper bracket bolts was a big pain. The exposed threads on the other side of the weld nut inside the frame were very rusty and in bad condition. The bolts easily broke loose but instantly came to a binding stop. I had to drench them with WD40, clean with a small wire brush then blow of with an air gun. Loosen again until I couldn't (I had an 18" cheater bar on my 1/2" ratchet) then turn them in and do the cleaning process all over again. It took about 45 minutes and a lot of sweat to get those bolts out. Once out the installation went great. Probably took about 30 more minute to complete. I fished the carriage bolts and rectangle plates through the opening at the back end of the frame rails. All in all I wouldn't hesitate to home install one of these again. As auto repai rs go this was a simple one.

5sturdy hitch
By sbf23t
The hitch fit perfict and once the old bolts were removed it went on in 30min. Removing the old bolts is something else however but this product has nothing to do with that.

499 GRAND CARAVAN HITCH
By Izz
Instruction says 20 mins to install. It took me almost a full day. Some of the problems were not attributed to the hitch though. The existing bolts on the van were seized and my impact socket would not budge it, so I had to use a 1/2 inch breaker bar. The other major problem was drilling the third hole on each side of the van. A half inch hole would not work. I found that out the hard way. I could not pull the bolt though the hole and had to finally break off the fishing wire and abandon the bolt in the steel channel. I finally went to the hardware store to buy smaller bolts so that I would not need to remove the already installed hitch to drill a larger hole. What a mess.
