Can use them to shorten tarp or for opportune holds. Good product and easy to use. Should have more than 15 for price.

5ANSWER TO AN AGE-OLD PROBLEM
By Am.Pat
THESE tarp tie-downs are surely an answer to reusing a perfectly good tarp that may have a grommet pulled out, or a rip where connectors are located.

They are a sensible and useful product that I would not want to not have on hand.

4Works Great, Inexpensive, Great Idea

Bottom Line: I recommend these above all/any other tarp clamping devices

Purpose: These clamps allow the user to custom fit a tarp to specific purposes and then secure it using either the clip's hole or hook.

Pro: Cost, Ease of Use, Reusability, Options for Tie-down (hook or loop), package includes enough pieces to do the job
Con: Can be difficult to clip more than one tarp layer, Hooks are Too Shallow and Lack Rigidity, Clip Can Pop Apart if pulled too tightly (e.g., in high wind)

Purchased these from Harbor Freight - the only place where I have seen them other than Amazon. They're an excellent alternative to the more expensive clips and clamps that use jagged clamps to grip (and ultimately tear) material. User can also use them to add connection points to relieve stress on tarps that have insufficient number of grommets OR to create a tiedown point where it's needed.

Concept is simple - circular portion is held on one s ide of the tarp while the frame/edge part is held to the other. User then pushes the frame portion against the tarp so that the nub at 7:00 position frame fits into the groove on the outer part of the circle, working it around until the entire "frame" snaps into the groove and nub at 5:00 position is secure - with the inner circle on one side of the tarp and the frame on the other.

User can double up layers provided tarp material is thin enough to allow the frame to still fit inside the groove. Once clamp is secure, the user can thread rope or wire through the closed loop or use the hook at the bottom to bind to secure point. Unlike bungees or clips that require grommets or hemmed edges, user can just move the clamp to another location if the tarp wears thin.
Only drawbacks I've had are:
1) A few clips came loose under high wind during NM sandstorm
2) Hooks at bottom of clip are too shallow and a bit flimsy, allowing rope to slip off (reason for 4 stars instead of 5)
3) Tarp weathers around stress points, requiring user to move and re-secure the clip elsewhere.

I have used these for the following: Securing tarp to tent frame, snugging up a too-large tarp for use as a pool cover, securing a large tarp over tent in high wind/rain conditions, securing tarp over cargo for transit in bed of truck.
